Foreign learners study Mandarin mainly at university-affiliated Chinese language centres.

As published by Taiwan's Ministry of Education (English site) on 2026-10-17: an article quotes an official of Taiwan's education division saying Taiwan has 64 university-affiliated Chinese language centres that can admit international students at all levels of Mandarin study. No quality scheme is described on the page. official source

Visa categories by length of stay

As published by Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs on 2026-10-17: foreigners entering Taiwan fall under a stay visa for stays of up to 180 days or a resident visa for stays of 180 days or more, with separate rules for visa-free, visa-on-arrival and e-visa entry. The page does not say which applies to language students: check the Bureau or the Taiwan office serving you, rules change. official source
