Argentina has no formally named official language, but Spanish is used in all aspects of government and society and is de facto official; indigenous languages are official only in the provinces of Chaco and Corrientes (as published by Wikipedia on 2026-10-17). Argentina's own Spanish proficiency exam for non-native speakers is the CELU.

CELU Spanish certificate

As published by Argentina's Foreign Ministry (Cancilleria, 2017 notice) on 2026-10-17: CELU (Certificado de Espanol: Lengua y Uso) is a Spanish-as-a-second-language exam with Intermediate and Advanced levels and no expiry date, and the page says Argentina's Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially recognise it. The notice is from 2017, so check the current CELU site for dates and venues. official source
